Chrome extension

The Chrome extension is the fastest way into Sensefold, and the only capture path for content behind your login — including AI conversations.

Current version: 1.2.0 (Chrome Web Store, updates automatically). This page is the reference; the overview with screenshots and FAQ is at sensefold.app/extension.

Capture

• One click on the open page — articles, threads with replies, YouTube pages with transcripts, and AI conversations as speaker-labelled Markdown.
• Write a note from the side panel. Notes are yours: indexed for search, never rewritten by Sensefold’s automatic AI.

Review before you save

• A free AI summary preview before saving — no credits are charged until you actually save.
• Edit tags at capture time, before the item enters your library.

Highlight & comment

• Turn on the highlighter for a site, then select text to save a highlight or a quoted comment on the saved page.
• Your marks come back when you revisit the page on a site you enabled: Sensefold checks whether the page is in your library and restores your highlights.
• Add a page comment to any saved page from the side panel.
• Per-site and explicit: the highlighter runs only on sites you turn it on, and you can disable it per site anytime.

Already saved

When the page you are on is already in your library, the panel says so: the capture button becomes Re-capture (save a fresh version of the page) and an Open in Sensefold link takes you to the item in the web app.

After saving

• Copy any capture as Markdown straight from the panel — the extension and the iOS app are the two places with per-item copy; the whole library exports as a Markdown ZIP from the web app.
• A local deck keeps your last captures one click away, with a reading view.
• Everything syncs to your library in realtime — search and manage it in the web app, and let your own AI read it over MCP (Sensefold for agents).

Privacy model

The extension has no blanket access to your browsing: it holds no <all_urls> permission, never reads pages in the background, and asks for access to a site the first time you capture there — enforced by the browser’s permission model, not by policy. The highlighter runs only on sites you turn it on, so it can restore your marks there; outside Capture and those sites, the extension does not read page content. Full details on the privacy policy.
