No. Saving items to your library is free; the AI work — summaries, tags, OCR, document and video processing — runs on credits, which come with a Starter or Pro subscription or a one-time credit pack. New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial that includes 800 credits, so you can try everything before you are charged.

The trial lasts 14 days and includes 800 AI credits. A card is required to start it, and it is available once per account. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and the first payment is charged then. You can cancel anytime — from your Sensefold account settings for web subscriptions, or from your Apple subscription settings for App Store subscriptions.

Credits and storage. Starter is $16/month ($160/year) with 7,000 AI credits a month and 2 GB of storage; Pro is $36/month ($396/year) with 20,000 credits and 20 GB. Every feature — all capture sources, automatic enrichment, MCP access, Markdown export — is in both.

Only AI processing: enrichment — automatic summaries, tags, and OCR — plus document and video processing. Saving an item to your library is free and never spends a credit.

Monthly credits do not roll over — they reset at the start of each billing period. Credits from a pack are different: they never expire and are only spent after your monthly credits run out.

Nothing you already processed is lost, and nothing is locked. New saves still land in your library, but as capture-only: a link keeps its URL and title, and no article text, summary, or tags are fetched until you have credits again. Search, MCP access, and Markdown export keep working on everything already in your library. To keep going, buy a credit pack or wait for your monthly credits to reset.

No. Anyone can buy a 5,000-credit pack for $16, with or without a subscription, and buy as many as you need. Pack credits never expire.

No. MCP access is included in every plan, and there is no separate agent plan or seat. Reading never spends credits: search_hub, list_items, get_item, and get_quota are free. save_note and update_note are free too, because notes are indexed and can get AI tags but are never summarized automatically. Only save_link spends credits — the same amount as saving that link yourself from the app or the extension — and it counts against your storage the same way. Agent keys draw on your own credit balance.

Your library stays yours. Everything you saved remains available in the apps, your AI can still reach it over MCP, and the Markdown export of your whole library keeps working — there is no read-only lockout. What ends is the monthly credit allowance, so new saves land as capture-only until you buy a credit pack or subscribe again; credits from a pack never expire, so any you already bought stay spendable. Cancel from your Sensefold account settings for web subscriptions, or from your Apple subscription settings for App Store subscriptions.

Either — your library is the same everywhere. Monthly plans and the credit pack cost the same on the web and in the App Store. Annual plans on the App Store are $159.99 (Starter) and $399 (Pro) because of Apple's price tiers. Your first subscription on the web adds 2,000 permanent credits that never expire. App Store subscriptions follow Apple's refund policy; web subscriptions through Stripe may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if you have not used a significant portion of your credits — email support@sensefold.app.
