Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Sensefold is a personal-context service: it captures web pages, files, notes, and AI conversations into Markdown, enriches captures automatically, and lets AI clients you authorize read and write your library over MCP. The service includes the web application, the iOS app, Sensefold for Chrome, the Apple Silicon Mac app, and the MCP server at api.sensefold.app/mcp.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use Sensefold. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the service
• Use the service to spam or harass others
• Resell or redistribute the service without authorization
• Exceed rate limits or abuse AI credit allocations

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Subscription Plans

Sensefold offers Starter and Pro subscription tiers, billed monthly or annually. There is no free subscription tier: saving items to your library is free, while AI processing is paid for with AI credits. Monthly plans and the credit pack cost the same on the web and in the App Store. Annual plans on the App Store are $159.99 (Starter) and $399 (Pro) because of Apple's price tiers.

Free Trial

New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial that includes 800 AI credits. A valid payment method is required to start the trial, and the trial is available once per account. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and the first payment is charged at the end of the trial period. You can cancel at any time — from your Sensefold account settings for web subscriptions, or from your Apple subscription settings for App Store subscriptions.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual billing period until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access and any remaining monthly credits until then. App Store subscriptions are billed, renewed, and cancelled through Apple and are also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

AI Credits

Each subscription includes a monthly allocation of AI credits. Credits are consumed by AI-powered features (enrichment, document and video processing). The monthly allocation resets at the start of each billing period: unused monthly credits do not roll over into the next period. Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. Saving items never consumes credits, including saves and note writes made by an agent over MCP; only AI processing of a saved link, file, or video does. When your balance is zero, new saves are kept as capture-only (URL and title) until credits are available again.

Credit Packs

Anyone may purchase credit packs as one-time purchases, with or without an active subscription. Purchased credits do not expire and are consumed only after monthly credits are exhausted.

Refunds

Subscriptions purchased via the App Store are subject to Apple's refund policy. Web subscriptions purchased via Stripe may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if you have not used a significant portion of your credits. Contact support@sensefold.app for refund requests.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you save to Sensefold. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. AI-generated summaries and tags are derived from your content and are provided as part of the service.

Our Service

The Sensefold applications, their design, code, and trademarks are the property of Sensefold and its licensors. Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service.

6. AI Processing

Sensefold uses third-party AI services to process your content. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated summaries, tags, and other AI outputs may contain errors. You should not rely on AI outputs as the sole source of truth for critical decisions.

AI processing requires your explicit consent, which you can manage in Settings. Without consent, the service operates in manual-only mode with limited functionality.

Connected AI Clients

You may connect third-party AI clients to your library over MCP using an Agent key or an OAuth authorization. Those clients and their providers are not part of the Sensefold service and act under their own terms. You choose the permission tier you grant, and you are responsible for what a client you authorize reads, creates, edits, or deletes in your library. Agent edits are versioned and can be reverted, and you can revoke any key or authorization at any time in Settings.

7. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We will provide reasonable notice for planned maintenance when possible.

8. Termination

You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. After cancellation your library, Markdown export, and MCP access remain available; only the monthly credit allowance ends.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sensefold shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
