A better first day, and desktop 0.4.0

New accounts now start with a checklist for installing the Chrome extension, getting the iPhone app, and connecting an AI, plus a welcome note, a sample ChatGPT conversation, and a sample article so the library is not empty. Eligible new users get a trial page to compare plans and start.

  • Payment confirmation reflects the exact purchase, and interrupted checkouts or plan changes can be resumed.
  • Renewal credits are confirmed the first time you check your balance after a renewal.
  • Refunds: refunding an upgrade keeps the plan you already paid for; App Store credit-pack partial refunds remove credits proportionally.
  • Deleting an account explains what happens to your subscription and remaining credits, and cancels the subscription for you.
  • Desktop 0.4.0 ships all of the above plus recovery of pending captures and Send Feedback. It updates in place from 0.3.0.

Send feedback with screenshots

You can now send feedback with images from Help or Settings. If sending fails, your text is kept.

Plans and credits: Starter, Pro, a free trial, and a credit pack

Sensefold now has two subscriptions and a one-time pack. Saving is free; AI processing runs on credits. Details are on the pricing page.

  • Starter and Pro, monthly or annual. New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial.
  • A 5,000-credit pack you can buy without a subscription. Its credits never expire and are used after monthly credits run out.
  • Monthly credits reset each billing period and do not roll over.
  • Out of credits? Links, files, and notes still save and wait. When you top up, you can preview the cost and process them in one batch.
  • iOS 1.4.3 carries the new plans screen and a billing view that separates monthly and permanent credits, and fixes account switching and pull-to-refresh on large libraries. The web app followed on Sep 5.
  • Retired: the previous Personal and Pro plans, the 500 / 2,000 / 6,000 credit packs, and the monthly free-credit top-up. Existing subscriptions keep working.

Rich text editor for notes

Notes are now edited in their formatted form. A toolbar appears on selection, "/" inserts blocks, headings collapse, blocks drag to reorder, and tables can be inserted and edited. Pasted Markdown keeps its structure, and notes are still stored as Markdown.

  • On phones the format bar stays fixed and cursor placement is more reliable.
  • Retired: the Markdown source editor and the Edit / Preview toggle.

Aug 24, 2026 · Extension 1.2.0

Chrome extension 1.2.0: highlights and page comments

You can now select text on a page and save it as a highlight. Highlights come back when you revisit, on sites you have enabled (Alt+Shift+H toggles highlight mode). Add a note to a selection or a comment on the whole page from the side panel or the right-click menu.

  • The side panel leads with the current page's card, comments, and highlights; click a highlight to jump to it.
  • Pages you already saved show a saved state and "Open in Sensefold".
  • Saving a duplicate returns you to the existing item, and a comment you wrote is added to it.
  • Highlights that fail to upload stay local with a retry.

Comments and highlights

Every saved item can now carry comments: on the whole item, on a quoted passage, or at a moment in a video. Comments sync across devices, are searchable, and are included in Markdown export.

  • iOS 1.3.0: highlight text to annotate it, comment or bookmark a video moment, and add a comment while saving from the Share Sheet. Sharing plain text saves it as a note as written, never AI-rewritten.
  • Web: comments sit in a side panel next to the matching highlights; the player pauses while you write a timestamp comment.
  • Saving a link you already have now resolves to the existing item everywhere, and "View" takes you to it. Existing duplicates were merged, keeping the newer copy.

Aug 11, 2026 · Extension 1.1.2

Chrome extension 1.1.2: video reading guide

Saved videos now show an overview, key points, and chapters in the side panel. Click a chapter or transcript time to seek; the extension reuses the open video tab. ChatGPT project conversations keep speaker roles when captured, and X extraction was repaired.

Aug 10, 2026 · Web · Desktop 0.1.5

Export your whole library as a Markdown ZIP

You can now export the entire library, optionally with AI summaries and original files. The export runs in the background; download it when it finishes.

  • Desktop 0.1.4 and 0.1.5: PDF viewing, downloads and copy, image zoom, the video reading view, realtime sync, and a fix for YouTube "Error 153" playback.

Aug 7, 2026 · iOS 1.2.1 · Web

iOS 1.2.1, realtime sync, and web reliability

Changes made on another device or by a connected AI now show up in the web app right away, and edits detect conflicts instead of overwriting each other.

  • iOS 1.2.1: YouTube plays inside the app with summary, chapters, and transcript tabs, and captions follow along. Images open full-screen with zoom. Refreshing shows progress and keeps the old content readable. Upgrades preserve offline items.
  • Web: items that fail, need credits, need AI authorization, or take unusually long say so instead of spinning. Unsaved note edits survive a failed save. Switching accounts no longer flashes the previous library.

Aug 5, 2026 · Web

Video reading on the web

Video items now get an inline player and a chapter guide built from the captions: overview, key points, and chapters you can click to seek. Summary, transcript, and chapters stay next to the player.

Aug 3, 2026 · iOS 1.2.0

iOS 1.2.0: iPad

Sensefold now runs natively on iPad with a two-column layout and multitasking. iPhone gets a redesigned shell with Home and Settings tabs and separate add, search, and filter actions. Existing notes open in reading view.

Connect Claude and ChatGPT with one browser authorization

You can now authorize Sensefold from the AI's connector settings instead of pasting a key. You pick the permission level during authorization and can revoke the connection at any time. From Aug 15 the connection settings lead with this flow; manual keys remain available.

Sensefold for Mac

A signed and notarized macOS app for Apple Silicon and Intel is now available, with in-app updates and login through your system browser. 0.1.2 the same day fixes the updater so it never offers an older build.

Jul 27, 2026 · Web

History, versions, and Trash

Every item now keeps a history. Compare versions, revert a change, and restore deleted items from Trash. A library-wide activity view shows what changed and when.

MCP: write tools and permission tiers

Connected AIs can now edit notes, update tags, and delete items, with version-conflict protection on edits. Each connection gets a permission level: read_only, edit, or full.

  • Long items are read in pages, and search hits return the matching passage with context.
  • ChatGPT-compatible search and fetch tools were added.
  • Search results carry a link the AI can cite that opens the item in Sensefold.
  • Jul 31 fixes: read-only and edit connections can no longer call actions above their level, restored items cannot be deleted by a stale request, and date-range searches include the end date.

Better search for Chinese text and long documents

Chinese keywords and short queries now match more reliably, and long articles and notes are searchable by paragraph with the relevant snippet shown. Connected AIs can limit a search to a date range.

Jul 24, 2026 · iOS 1.1.0

iOS 1.1.0

Sharing now returns you to the source app immediately while the upload continues in the background. Quick actions on the app icon work even when the app is not running. Search is faster. This is the first build under the Sensefold name.

Lexi is now Sensefold

The product, the site, and the API moved to sensefold.app. The iOS app followed on Jul 24 and the Chrome extension on Jul 27. Existing accounts, saved content, purchases, and old links continue to work.

Built-in assistant and automatic memory retired

The in-app assistant and the automatic personal memory and profile were removed (web Jul 19, iOS 1.1.0), so Sensefold can focus on being the library your own AI reads and writes through the MCP server. Your items, notes, and billing history are unaffected; historical chat data was deleted.

Jul 15, 2026 · Extension 1.0.0

Chrome extension 1.0.0

The first public Chrome extension (then named Lexi). From the side panel: capture the current article after previewing the cleaned text, save YouTube videos with transcripts, X and Reddit threads with comments, and conversations from supported AI chat tools.

  • Preview the AI summary and suggested tags before saving, and edit tags before or after.
  • Write notes in the side panel, copy anything as Markdown, pin and expand cards.
  • Four font sizes, and it follows system dark mode.
  • No all-sites permission at install; you grant access on first capture.

Agent keys and the MCP server

Settings now include Agent API keys and an MCP connection guide, so an external AI can search, browse, read, and save to your library. Keys are created with a chosen scope and can be revoked.

Jul 12, 2026 · iOS 1.0.3

iOS 1.0.3

Newly saved items now appear at the top of the library immediately and update in place as they process. The library uses a compact single-line list with tags in the detail view. Adding a link uses the system Paste button, so the clipboard permission prompt stops repeating. Menu taps and deletes register on the first tap.

  • Retired: the Personalization and Memory entries in Settings.

Jul 8, 2026 · iOS 1.0.2 · Web

iOS 1.0.2

Text now follows the system size in the app and the Share Extension. Uploads that fail are kept for retry even after the app closes, a failed share keeps the sheet open with Try again, and items blocked because AI is off offer an Enable AI action.

  • PDF uploads no longer error and hang in pending. Items stuck in processing recover, and failed processing is refunded.
  • Web: buying or changing a plan refreshes the real balance and status.

June 2026

Jun 29, 2026 · iOS 1.0.1

iOS 1.0.1

You can now copy any saved item as Markdown from its detail view. Long items scroll more smoothly, and the library starts with fewer placeholder flashes.

Jun 16, 2026 · iOS 1.0 · Web

Sensefold 1.0 on iPhone and the web

The first App Store release (then named Lexi), alongside the web app. Save links, articles, videos, PDFs, and images and get summaries and tags automatically; write Markdown notes; search and filter by tag; capture from the Share Sheet, Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight; everything stays in sync. AI can be turned off, and you can delete items or the whole account.

  • The built-in assistant and automatic memory that shipped in 1.0 were retired in July (see Jul 22).
