Share pages

You can now turn saved items into an unlisted page that anyone with the link can read, no account needed. Start from a tag, an AI tag, or items you pick, add an intro, and order up to 200 items. The page stays in step with your library as you edit.

• Choose what visitors see: Minimal shows only what you wrote and your photos; Summary adds AI summaries and video chapters. Your comments and highlights are a separate switch.
• Link controls: copy the link, pause the page, get a new link, protect access with a 6-character code, or delete the page.
• Customize the link preview card: pick a background scene, choose a Serif or Rounded font, or hide the title.
• Your first share asks you to choose an @handle and public name. The handle becomes part of every page address and cannot be changed later.
• Items on a page are marked "Public on N share pages". Connected AIs can list your share pages and search within one, but cannot create or change them.

Desktop 0.7.0 brings share pages to the Mac. It now asks before closing, quitting, or reloading with unsaved changes, and opens ordinary web links in your browser.

• Updates: Restart and install appears only once the update is ready, and if installing fails, the window comes back with the error.

iOS 1.6.0: daily review, widgets, and quick capture

Daily review now brings back a few items you saved more than a month ago, once you have saved at least five. Open one, write a line about it, or skip the day. It is off until you turn it on from the top of Library or the You tab, and it can send one notification a day.

• Widgets: Write a thought, Activity, and Today's review on the Home Screen, plus Lock Screen widgets for quick capture and today's review. You > Widgets shows how to add them.
• Tap + to write a thought or paste a link in a small capture card, and expand it into the full editor when you need room. Pasting share text from Xiaohongshu, Douyin, TikTok, or Bilibili saves the link inside it.
• A new note editor: bold, lists, checklists, and links format as you type, and notes are still saved as Markdown. Notes now open straight into editing, with no separate reading mode.
• Home is now Library and Settings is now You. You > Appearance sets the colour and style of your sticky notes on saved pages.
• Retired: the + menu and its Camera option; + now opens quick capture. Take Photo is still available from Siri and Shortcuts.

Related items, an Info panel, and AI tags from a shared topic list

Saved items now have Notes, Related, and Info next to the page. Related shows up to five similar items from your library; Info holds the summary, tags, and dates, so the summary no longer sits at the top of the page. iOS 1.6.0 and desktop 0.6.0 followed on Sep 28.

• AI tags now come from a shared topic list, up to three per item, and are kept apart from your own tags. Browse by Your tags or AI tags, and remove an AI tag that does not fit; it will not come back. Earlier AI tags were replaced, and connected AIs now see and edit only your own tags.
• Settings is now the You page, with how much you have saved and written and an activity heatmap. Usage & billing is now Plan & credits.
• Web and desktop: Library expands into Notes, Links, Social, Video, Documents, and Images. Open an item side-by-side with Cmd-click or "Open to the side", and go Back after following a library link (on the Mac also with Cmd-[ or a swipe).
• Fixes: editing a note for the first time no longer damages footnotes, images, inline HTML, callouts, or escaped characters; untitled notes take their first line as the title; onboarding no longer reappears after a reload.
• Retired: the AI & personalization setting, and the video Summary tab (videos now open on Chapters, and Generate summary moved to Info).

Chrome extension 1.3.0: links and footnotes in the side panel

Links in clipped pages to items already in your library now open the saved copy in a new Sensefold tab, and footnote markers peek at the note on hover and jump on click. Anchors inside the clip scroll in place; one the clip cannot resolve opens the source page at that spot in a normal tab. Relative links and images resolve against the clipped page.

Tables, math, and media in saved pages

Saved pages now render the HTML inside them instead of showing it as raw text: tables with merged cells, video and audio, math, inline SVG, and in-page anchors.

• In notes, hovering a link shows a preview card, and links to library items appear as chips with a bookmark icon and title. Clicking an unfocused link opens it; clicking while focused lets you edit or remove the URL.
• Desktop 0.5.0 brings rendered HTML and library links to the Mac. On Sep 16, desktop 0.5.1 and the web app made long note titles wrap and scroll, and stopped search from overwriting text typed with an input method.

Links that know your library

Links to pages already in your library now open the saved copy, marked with a small bookmark; the original page is a long-press or menu action away. Footnotes peek on tap and jump on a second tap.

• Save linked pages: from any saved page, pick the pages it links to and save them in one go, with the cost shown before you confirm.
• Copy Sensefold link on any item: on an iPhone with the app installed, it opens in the app instead of the browser.
• Relative links and images inside GitHub READMEs and other extracted pages now resolve correctly, in reading and in Copy as Markdown.

iOS 1.5.0: a new first run

New accounts now start with welcome pages, consent, and a trial step. Home shows sample items right away so there is something to explore before you save anything.

• You can now send feedback from Settings, with screenshots.
• Videos: the page scrolls under the player, and the library gets a Video filter.
• Long articles open and scroll noticeably faster, and the app opens without a stall after sharing many items in the background.
• Subscription details in Settings now show pending plan changes and your trial status.
• Fixes: a crash on Sign Out, a crash when long-pressing a saved link, blank gaps under some paragraphs, and settings being lost when the app could not read your earlier choices.

New accounts now start with a checklist for installing the Chrome extension, getting the iPhone app, and connecting an AI, plus a welcome note, a sample ChatGPT conversation, and a sample article so the library is not empty. Eligible new users get a trial page to compare plans and start.

• Payment confirmation reflects the exact purchase, and interrupted checkouts or plan changes can be resumed.
• Renewal credits are confirmed the first time you check your balance after a renewal.
• Refunds: refunding an upgrade keeps the plan you already paid for; App Store credit-pack partial refunds remove credits proportionally.
• Deleting an account explains what happens to your subscription and remaining credits, and cancels the subscription for you.
• Desktop 0.4.0 ships all of the above plus recovery of pending captures and Send Feedback. It updates in place from 0.3.0.

Plans and credits: Starter, Pro, a free trial, and a credit pack

Sensefold now has two subscriptions and a one-time pack. Saving is free; AI processing runs on credits. Details are on the pricing page.

• Starter and Pro, monthly or annual. New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial.
• A 5,000-credit pack you can buy without a subscription. Its credits never expire and are used after monthly credits run out.
• Monthly credits reset each billing period and do not roll over.
• Out of credits? Links, files, and notes still save and wait. When you top up, you can preview the cost and process them in one batch.
• iOS 1.4.3 carries the new plans screen and a billing view that separates monthly and permanent credits, and fixes account switching and pull-to-refresh on large libraries. The web app followed on Sep 5.
• Retired: the previous Personal and Pro plans, the 500 / 2,000 / 6,000 credit packs, and the monthly free-credit top-up. Existing subscriptions keep working.

Rich text editor for notes

Notes are now edited in their formatted form. A toolbar appears on selection, "/" inserts blocks, headings collapse, blocks drag to reorder, and tables can be inserted and edited. Pasted Markdown keeps its structure, and notes are still stored as Markdown.

• On phones the format bar stays fixed and cursor placement is more reliable.
• Retired: the Markdown source editor and the Edit / Preview toggle.

Chrome extension 1.2.0: highlights and page comments

You can now select text on a page and save it as a highlight. Highlights come back when you revisit, on sites you have enabled (Alt+Shift+H toggles highlight mode). Add a note to a selection or a comment on the whole page from the side panel or the right-click menu.

• The side panel leads with the current page's card, comments, and highlights; click a highlight to jump to it.
• Pages you already saved show a saved state and "Open in Sensefold".
• Saving a duplicate returns you to the existing item, and a comment you wrote is added to it.
• Highlights that fail to upload stay local with a retry.

Comments and highlights

Every saved item can now carry comments: on the whole item, on a quoted passage, or at a moment in a video. Comments sync across devices, are searchable, and are included in Markdown export.

• iOS 1.3.0: highlight text to annotate it, comment or bookmark a video moment, and add a comment while saving from the Share Sheet. Sharing plain text saves it as a note as written, never AI-rewritten.
• Web: comments sit in a side panel next to the matching highlights; the player pauses while you write a timestamp comment.
• Saving a link you already have now resolves to the existing item everywhere, and "View" takes you to it. Existing duplicates were merged, keeping the newer copy.

Changes made on another device or by a connected AI now show up in the web app right away, and edits detect conflicts instead of overwriting each other.

• iOS 1.2.1: YouTube plays inside the app with summary, chapters, and transcript tabs, and captions follow along. Images open full-screen with zoom. Refreshing shows progress and keeps the old content readable. Upgrades preserve offline items.
• Web: items that fail, need credits, need AI authorization, or take unusually long say so instead of spinning. Unsaved note edits survive a failed save. Switching accounts no longer flashes the previous library.

Connected AIs can now edit notes, update tags, and delete items, with version-conflict protection on edits. Each connection gets a permission level: read_only, edit, or full.

• Long items are read in pages, and search hits return the matching passage with context.
• ChatGPT-compatible search and fetch tools were added.
• Search results carry a link the AI can cite that opens the item in Sensefold.
• Jul 31 fixes: read-only and edit connections can no longer call actions above their level, restored items cannot be deleted by a stale request, and date-range searches include the end date.

Sensefold 1.0 on iPhone and the web

The first App Store release (then named Lexi), alongside the web app. Save links, articles, videos, PDFs, and images and get summaries and tags automatically; write Markdown notes; search and filter by tag; capture from the Share Sheet, Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight; everything stays in sync. AI can be turned off, and you can delete items or the whole account.

• The built-in assistant and automatic memory that shipped in 1.0 were retired in July (see Jul 22).
