About Sensefold

What Sensefold is

Sensefold is your personal context: the articles, threads, videos, and AI conversations you collect, the notes you write on them, and one Markdown library that Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor all read, build on, and write back to, so your thinking carries across models and sessions. The Chrome extension captures pages, social threads, YouTube pages with their transcripts, and ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok chats as Markdown. Captures get automatic summaries, tags, OCR, and video chapter guides. Notes you write are indexed for search but never rewritten by Sensefold's automatic AI.

Your own AI connects over MCP at https://api.sensefold.app/mcp with an OAuth authorization or a tiered Agent key (read_only, edit, or full). Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes, and any other MCP client can search your library, cite items by deep link, and, when you allow it, write to it. Agent edits are versioned and revertible. Everything you save can leave as a Markdown ZIP from the web app, so the library is never locked to one model or one vendor.

What Sensefold is not

Sensefold does not answer questions about your library itself; the AI you connect does that, with your content as context. It does not import archives from other apps, and it does not push content into other note apps. Saving is free, AI processing runs on credits, and every new subscription starts with a 14-day trial. We describe features only after they ship, so if a capability is not on this site or in the docs, assume it does not exist yet.

How we make product decisions

Three rules shape what we build. First, the product must stay model-independent: nothing in Sensefold depends on a particular AI provider, and the MCP server is the same for every client. Second, your data must stay portable: every item is stored as Markdown you can copy or export in full. Third, you control access: permission tiers, revocable keys, and a visible activity history for every agent write are part of the product, not settings buried behind a support request. Requests that conflict with these rules wait, however popular they are.

Editorial policy

Articles on the blog and pages under compare are written and reviewed by the Sensefold team and published under the byline “Sensefold Editorial”. They follow the same rules as the rest of this site.

• Claims about Sensefold come from shipped code. A feature is described in the present tense only when it is live in the current apps. Reviewers check each claim against the product before publishing.
• Claims about other products are sourced. Prices, limits, and features of the tools we compare against are taken from the vendor's own pages at the time of writing, and each comparison names the date it was checked.
• Every article is dated. Published and last-updated dates are shown on the page and in its structured data. Substantive changes update the date; typo fixes do not.
• Corrections are welcome. If something is wrong or out of date, email support@sensefold.app with the URL. We correct the page or, when a product we compare against has changed materially, re-check the whole comparison.
• Drafting tools are disclosed here. Some drafts start with AI writing assistance. A person reviews every article before publication and is responsible for its accuracy.
