Connect ChatGPT to Sensefold

ChatGPT connects to Sensefold as a remote MCP server. OpenAI has called this surface Apps, connectors, and Plugins at different times — they are the same thing here: an MCP server ChatGPT can call, enabled through Developer mode. It uses OAuth, so you do not need to create or paste an Agent key.

ChatGPT web does not reuse MCP servers configured in the Codex app, CLI, or IDE extension. Add Sensefold separately in ChatGPT.

Setup

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan and, for workspaces, on admin policy; if you do not see the switch, see troubleshooting.
Open ChatGPT Plugins and select the plus button.
Enter Sensefold as the name and a short description such as Search and update my private Sensefold library.
Under Connection, paste the full MCP endpoint:

Create the connection and review the discovered tools.
Select Sign in when prompted, complete OAuth in the browser, and choose a permission tier. Start with read-only unless ChatGPT needs to save or update items.
Start a new conversation and add Sensefold from the tools menu.

ChatGPT primarily uses the search and fetch tools to ground answers in your library; each result carries the item’s library link, so ChatGPT can cite what it used. An edit connection also exposes tools that save and update links or notes; full access additionally allows soft deletion.

Connection history

OAuth connections appear automatically under Sensefold → You → For agents. Reconnecting the same client can revoke its previous connection. A row marked Revoked is retained as history but no longer grants access; use the newest active row.
