Sensefold vs Raindrop.io: the bookmark manager you curate, or personal context your own AI reads and writes
Raindrop.io is a genuinely good bookmark manager: collections, tags, apps on every platform, a generous free plan, and — on Pro — the Stella assistant plus an official MCP server in beta. Sensefold is a different object. It does not ask you to file anything: the Chrome extension and iOS share sheet capture pages, threads, videos, and ChatGPT or Claude chats as Markdown; each capture gets a summary and tags automatically; and Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client searches and writes to that library on every plan. This page compares both, including Raindrop’s own MCP, without pretending Raindrop stood still.

Moving from Raindrop.io to Sensefold
Sensefold has no importer. In Raindrop, open Settings → Export and download the HTML or CSV file; it lists every bookmark with its URL, title, tags, and notes. Keep it — it is complete and reads fine in a browser or a spreadsheet.
Then re-save the pages you still use rather than the whole archive: open the URL and click the Sensefold button in Chrome, or share it from iPhone, and the page is captured in full, summarized, tagged, and stored as Markdown. If an edit-tier agent is connected, give it the CSV and ask it to call save_link for each URL and to carry the tags across with update_tags. Every capture spends credits on enrichment, so a large batch will outrun the 800 trial credits — work in batches or on Starter. Raindrop’s collection structure and permanent copies do not migrate.

Does Raindrop.io have MCP too?
Yes. Raindrop ships an official hosted MCP server that uses OAuth 2.1, supports reading and writing, and is in beta for Pro users. Raindrop’s help page says you cannot use your own model inside Stella, but that “you can get all of Stella’s capabilities inside ChatGPT, Claude…” via MCP. Sensefold’s MCP is on every plan, adds tiered Agent keys for clients that cannot do OAuth, and versions every agent write.
