Sensefold vs Pocket: from a reading list Mozilla could delete to context your own AI can read
If you built a habit around Pocket, the habit outlived the app. Mozilla closed Pocket on July 8, 2025, and closed the export window on November 12, 2025. Sensefold is not a Pocket clone: it is personal context. The Chrome extension and the iOS share sheet capture pages, threads, videos, and ChatGPT or Claude chats as Markdown; each capture gets a summary and tags automatically; and the AI you already use reads and writes that library over MCP. Moving from Pocket to Sensefold
There is no importer, and there is nothing left on Pocket’s side to fetch: Mozilla closed the export window and began deleting data on November 12, 2025. If you did export in time, the file is a CSV or HTML list of URLs, titles, and tags — Pocket never exported article text. Keep that file; it is the only record of what you saved.
To rebuild, save the pages you still need rather than everything you ever saved. Open the URL and click the Sensefold button in Chrome, or share it from Safari on iPhone; Sensefold captures the readable text, writes a summary and tags, and stores it as Markdown. If you have connected an agent with an edit-tier key, you can hand it the list and ask it to call save_link for each URL. Every capture runs enrichment and spends credits, so a large batch will exhaust the 800 trial credits — do it in batches, or on Starter. Highlights and reading progress do not carry over.

Can I bring my Pocket export into Sensefold?
Not with an importer — Sensefold has none. A Pocket export holds URLs, titles, and tags only, so the practical route is to re-save the pages that still matter with the Chrome extension or the iOS share sheet, or to ask an edit-tier MCP agent to call save_link for each URL. Each save is captured in full, summarized, tagged, and stored as Markdown.
Is Sensefold a Pocket replacement?
For the save-it-now habit, yes: one tap from Chrome or the iOS share sheet, synced everywhere. The rest is different by design. Pocket was a reading queue; Sensefold is personal context — Markdown with summaries and tags that Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client can search, cite, and write notes into. Sensefold has no reader mode, no text-to-speech, and no RSS.
What happens to my library if Sensefold ever shuts down?
You can export it today, not just at the end: the web app packages the whole library as a Markdown ZIP — text, summaries, tags, and captured chats in plain files — and the extension and iOS app copy any single capture as Markdown. That is the exit Pocket did not give; we make no promise beyond the export that already ships.
